Welcome iLumenEd Students
We appreciate your interest in taking dual credit classes through the
partnership iLumenEd has with God’s Bible School and College!
Dual credits classes are a great option for accelerating a student’s education. They allow students to fulfill both high school and college credits with the same courses. This saves time and money.
FAQs
Do dual credit classes save time?
First, dual credit classes save time because a three-credit course counts as a full year of high school credit. So, if a student takes English Composition 1 in the fall semester and English Composition 2 in the spring semester, they have just completed two years of high school English!
Second, dual credit classes can count toward a future college degree. Many dual credit students graduate with a year of college already complete and some even with an associate’s degree!
Do GBSC credits transfer to other colleges?
Many students choose to transfer their dual credits toward degrees at other colleges. While ultimately transfer is up to the individual colleges, most allow for transfer of general education classes (English, Math, Science, etc.) and non-major requirements from other similarly accredited colleges.
God’s Bible School and College’s regional accreditation through the Higher Learning Commission is the same or similar to most other public and large private colleges.
Students have transferred their GBSC credits to Miami University, University of Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky University, Liberty University, Xavier University, Indiana Wesleyan University, and Ohio Christian University just to name a few.
When do classes start?
Most dual credit classes start in January and August. A smaller selection of classes start in March, June, and October.
How do students register for online classes?
The first step is to apply. You can apply by clicking here! Once you have applied, you can register through your iLumenEd contact.
When is the last day for a student to add or drop a class?
Typically this will be two weeks following the start of the semester. Add/Drop dates will be published on the GBSC academic calendar. Students can still withdraw from classes after the add/drop deadline, but a “W” will appear on their transcript and they may incur charges.
