Determine what online courses should look like
  • Check with accrediting agencies to see what percentage of the program can be offered with completely online classes
  • Develop a few courses in GoCourse, and show them to administrators and others to get feedback
  • Develop a spreadsheet with all courses listed, showing what is to be done with each course

Develop a proposal for what degree programs might be added to ADEP
  • Ask Academic Committee what programs would be permitted to be considered for distance learning
  • Survey current and prospective students to see what additional programs they might be interested in
  • Determine what teachers would be interested in working with distance learning to offer classes related to other degrees
  • Create a proposal to add programs to ADEP offerings and present to Academic Committee and administration
  • Modify proposal to accommodate Academic Committee and Administrative concerns
  • Submit proposal to ABHE (then after response from them, submit to HLC)
 


Academic Development

Academic Development includes topics such as: new academic programs; the culture of general education; adjunct integration; faculty and student research; faculty overload; “first-year experience” programming; retention and graduation rates and goals; refinement of assessment processes; educational technology; and transfer and/or articulation agreements.
